About CDEC

INTRODUCTION

Established in 2020, the competition provides a national platform for students to articulate original ideas on how technology can address issues that affect everyday life. It forms part of the Group’s wider youth-focused digital development efforts aimed at strengthening long-term technology capability, innovation thinking, and problem-solving confidence among young Nigerians.

Nigeria’s transportation sector sits at the centre of economic activity and social mobility, yet safety risks, inefficiencies, and coordination gaps continue to affect how people and goods move across the country. A reliable transport system depends not only on infrastructure, but also on intelligent systems, timely information, and accountability.

The 7th edition therefore  invites students to examine how information technology can strengthen safety, improve efficiency, and build public confidence  across road, rail, air, and maritime transport.

SystemSpecs Group’s corporate social responsibility is anchored in a long-term social philosophy: national progress depends on citizens who understand the systems they will one day lead. Its CSR work reflects a sustained commitment to building a better Nigeria through information technology by preparing young Nigerians for the realities of the world they will inherit.

As a technology group whose solutions power payments and digital infrastructure across the country, SystemSpecs recognises that sustainable development requires not only strong systems, but also capable young minds equipped to design, manage, and improve them. The Group therefore invests in structured platforms that expose children early to real societal challenges, strengthening analytical thinking, technological awareness, and civic responsibility.
